Soft Tissue Therapy (STT) is a hands-on massage from an appropriately qualified therapist, in our case an osteopath.
STT is different to most massages you might receive in a spa or most health clubs. The differences are down to the patient screening process and the therapist’s intent. Both of which will ensure the treatment you receive is specific to your body’s needs.
Before patients receive any osteopathic treatment, an osteopathic consultation must first be undertaken. Patients attending Massage only treatments will receive an abbreviated version of an osteopathic consultation to ensure their suitability for massage only treatments.
This is to ensure a full understanding of your health and needs are first obtained. This will help guide treatment, and ensure there is a clear intent to the treatment, above helping you feel more relaxed.
STT treatments can vary in intensity. Between the patient and osteopath, the appropriate intensity can be found. This means patients who prefer a deeper tissue treatment can be catered for, as well as patients who need and respond better to lighter techniques.
